Tour Itinerary

Day 1

Puno – Uros Floating Islands – Amantani Island (Homestay)

Our two-day tour starts early from Puno, where we’ll hop on a comfortable boat and leave the city behind. The open waters of Lake Titicaca will stretch in every direction, and the mountains in the distance will make the scenery feel epic. Our tour guide will tell stories about the lake, its history, and the local communities we’ll meet along the way. The morning light on the water always makes the start of this day tour feel peaceful and exciting.

The first stop is the Uros Floating Islands, made completely from totora reeds, where families still live on the water. We’ll walk across the reed islands, snap photos, and watch locals go about daily life. The guide will explain how the islands are built and maintained and how the totora reeds are used for houses, boats, and crafts. Some of us may choose to try an optional totora reed boat ride for a different view of the islands.

After exploring the Uros Islands, we’ll continue cruising across the lake toward Amantani Island. The waters feel calm, and every turn offers incredible panoramic views of the highest navigable lake in the world. Upon arrival, our host families will welcome us, and we’ll settle into our cozy homestays. The first day on Amantani is always special because it feels personal, friendly, and full of authentic island life.

In the afternoon, we’ll walk around Amantani, visiting small villages, agricultural terraces, and local viewpoints. A highlight is hiking to the Pachatata and Pachamama temples to catch a sunset over the lake. We’ll return to our host families’ homes for a traditional dinner and enjoy some downtime, learning about their routines and customs. The first day of this two-day tour ends relaxed, with calm lake views and unforgettable cultural experiences.
